Christian Aid Week News: 13-19 May

This month, many people give a few hours of their time and energy to help Christian Aid. They pop envelopes through doors, then return to collect the householder’s donation toward the work that Christian Aid does around the world to help deflect the effects of poverty and injustice.

Here are a some of the people that are helped:

Christian Aid provides life saving food in East Africa to help the 16 million people at severe risk of starvation. It is the worst humanitarian crisis there since 1945.

Christian Aid supports displaced vulnerable Rohingya families fleeing from violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine State.

Christian Aid helps to support families and their livestock in Northern Kenya which has been devastated by extreme drought.

Christian Aid provides schooling for children in Columbia who have seen far too much violence and fear local armed groups. They are given a safe place to go to have fun, and be educated.

Christian Aid thanks you all.

Rankin collectors please remember to pick up their bag of envelopes in the large hall after the service on Sunday, 13 May. Thank you all for your continued support.

If there is anyone who would like to know more about this once yearly collection, please let us know via the contact form or speak to the minister.
